特定非営利活動法人 東京レインボープライド（共同代表理事:杉山文野、山田なつみ） は、アジア最大級のLGBTQ+関連イベントである「東京レインボープライド2024」を4月20日(土)～4月21日(日)の2日間、代々木公園にて開催いたしました。

30年前、日本で初めてのプライドパレードが開催されました。その第一歩から今日にいたるまでに変わったこと、変わらないことを振り返り、そして未来に向けたアクションを起こさなければならない、そんな思いのもとTRP2024を開催しました。当初予定していた4月19日（金）の開催は、強風の発生によりやむを得ず中止いたしました。関係者の皆さまとこの日のために1年間全力で準備をしてきただけに断腸の思いではありましたが、安全な運営を最優先にしての決断となりました。同日に予定していた「プライド30th スペシャルデイ」ステージプログラムに関しては、また日を改めて何かしらの形でお届けできるよう検討してまいります。
今回は初の試みとして、プライドパレードが初めて日本で行われて今年で30周年を記念したPRIDE 30thブースでは、全国のプライド団体と協力し歴史的資料の展示公開を行いました。また、結婚の平等（同性婚）を実現させるために活動している「公益社団法人Marriage For All Japan –結婚の自由をすべての人に」とのコラボ企画、ファミリーも楽しめる場として新たに「レインボーステージ」を設けるなど、結果として、プライドパレード参加者数、協賛団体数、ステージ登壇者数、延べ来場者数など、東京レインボープライド史上最大規模の開催となりました。様々な形でご参加いただいたすべての皆様に感謝申し上げます。
今回のテーマ「変わるまで、あきらめない。」の通り、私たちはこれからもあきらめずに活動し続けます。LGBTQ+に限らず、多様な誰もが自分らしく暮らせる社会の実現を目指して、一歩ずつ着実に歩んでまいりますので、引き続き応援のほどよろしくお願いいたします。

【Event Report】
Total participation in Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2024 soared to a record-breaking high, with approximately 270,000 individuals having joined the festivities over the two days.
About 15,000 individuals, marching in front of 24 floats and in 60 blocks, paraded through Tokyo’s famous Shibuya district inspired by the 30th anniversary of the Pride Parade theme: 'Don’t Give Up, Change Japan' while highlighting the vibrant spectrum of sexuality and life diversity.
Tokyo Rainbow Pride, a non-profit organization led by co-chairs Fumino Sugiyama and Natsumi Yamada, hosted Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2024, one of Asia's largest LGBTQ+ events, at Yoyogi Park over two days from April 20 (Sat.) to April 21 (Sun.).
Regrettably, the event originally scheduled for Friday, April 19, was canceled due to safety concerns after strong winds forced the organizer to ensure safety of all involved take precedence, despite all the preparation work over the past year.
Participation breakdown:
Pride Parade: 15,000 individuals marching in 60 blocks.
Pride Festival: Total of 120,000 visitors on April 20 (Sat.) and 150,000 on April 21 (Sun.).
TRP2024 supporters: 314 organizations
A Message from Co-Chairs Fumino Sugiyama and Natsumi Yamada:
Since the inaugural Pride Parade held in Japan three decades ago, TRP2024 served as a poignant moment to reflect on the progress made and the challenges that still lie ahead. While it was disappointing to cancel the Friday festivities, we ulimately decided that safety was paramount and efforts are now underway to explore options for rescheduling the "Pride 30th Special Day" stage program that had been planned that day.
This year also marked the debut of the PRIDE 30th booth, commemorating Japan's first Pride Parade anniversary. Collaborating with Pride organizations nationwide, historical materials were showcased. Additionally, partnerships with "Marriage For All Japan - Freedom of Marriage for All" and the introduction of the "Rainbow Stage" for families contributed to record-breaking participation, sponsorship, and attendance.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to all contributors and participants. As we embrace this year's theme, "Don’t Give Up, Change Japan," our commitment remains steadfast. Step by step, we strive towards a society where everyone, regardless of identity, can live authentically. Your continued support is invaluable.
